Marina of 914 berths at the mouth of the Siagne river in the Golfe de La Napoule, between Cannes and the Estérel massif.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east leaving the Île Sainte-Marguerite to the north and the red buoy of the Siagne to starboard. Entrance between two breakwater heads, red and green lights. Shelter good from all sectors except strong easterlies that send swell into the outer basin. Berthing help is not always on hand and some crews moor themselves. VHF channel 9.
Practical
914 berths on 12 pontoons, around 100 for visitors. Diesel and petrol at the fuel berth at the entrance. Water, electricity, toilets and showers on all pontoons, keys and adapters lent against an ID deposit. Two travel lifts up to 45 tonnes and full boatyard. Online booking requests often go unanswered, so phone to confirm, and the charge can exceed the online quote if a larger berth is given. A free shuttle runs to the supermarket and the train station a few minutes away links to Cannes, Nice and Antibes.
Ashore
Château de La Napoule on the breakwater at 150 m from the marina, 14th century fortress restored by sculptor Henry Clews in the 1920s, museum open to visitors. Beach of La Napoule along the shore north of the port. Estérel red rock coastal path starts 1.5 km to the west at Théoule.
History
The Château de La Napoule was built around 1387 by the Villeneuve family, partly destroyed, then bought and restored from 1918 by American sculptor Henry Clews and his wife Marie, who ran an artists' residency there.
