- Type
- Harbour
Small tidal harbour on the right bank of the Garonne in Lormont, across the river from Bordeaux.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access by the Garonne, on the right bank about 3 nautical miles downstream of the Pont de pierre. Strong tidal currents on the Garonne, up to 4 knots on springs. Plan arrival around slack water. The approach dries partially at low water, so enter near high water.
Practical
Small port mainly used by local boats. Few visitor berths. Bordeaux Cite du Vin pontoon sits 1.2 nm SW and the Bordeaux waiting quay for the Bassins a flot lies 1.3 nm SW, both usable as fallback.
Ashore
Lormont old village and the Iris garden up the hill from the port. Tram line A stop Buttiniere at roughly 1 km gives direct access to central Bordeaux in about 20 minutes.
