Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south-west through the channel between the mainland and Île des Embiez. The lagoon is shallow with sandbanks on both sides of the marked channel, and boats drawing more than about 1.4 metres report touching, so deep-keeled yachts should sound their way in with care despite the 2 metre figure at the entrance. VHF channel 9. Exposed to strong southerly winds that push swell into the outer basin, and there is little shelter in a hard mistral.

Practical

Around 900 berths managed by the municipal harbour office, with a night reported at around 45 euros out of season. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol, though the card reader is often out of order. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Sanitary block with showers. Chandlery and small yards on the quay. Bakery, butcher and grocery within 200 m of the harbour office.

Ashore

Ferry shuttle across to Île des Embiez in 10 minutes from the fish quay. Coastal path north-west to the Gaou islands nature area, about 1 km. Plage de Bonnegrâce sandy beach 600 m north of the harbour. Weekly market on Thursday morning on place Charles de Gaulle.
