Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north through the pass between the island and the mainland, or from the south via the Grand Rouveau channel. Bottom of thick posidonia over hard sand, so drop on a clear patch and back down to check the anchor is set, holding in 3 to 8 m. Sheltered from SE to W, exposed to the mistral and easterlies. The Le Brusc shuttle passes close by about twice an hour from dawn to near midnight, throwing a 30 to 40 cm wash, so stay inside the yellow speed buoys and edge towards Le Brusc to cut the roll.

Practical

Forain anchorage, water available ashore at Saint-Pierre des Embiez 0,3 nautical miles west. Le Brusc 0,5 nautical miles south-east for shops and fuel.

Ashore

The Embiez island is owned by the Paul Ricard estate and laid out with footpaths around the shore. Institut océanographique Paul Ricard and its aquarium are on the island. Saint-Pierre village has shops, a bakery and restaurants.
