Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom, good holding. Protection from W only. Fully exposed to E and to the tramontane running along the coast from NW. Roadstead with no shelter from swell, day use in settled weather. Watch for surf line close inshore. A bathing zone reaches up to 300 m off the beach, and kite surfers gather off the grau de l'étang to the south, an area to give a wide berth.
Practical
No facilities on site. Port de Canet-en-Roussillon 1.3 NM S with all services, and Port de Sainte-Marie-la-Mer 2.5 NM N.
Ashore
Long sand beach of the Roussillon lido. Étang de Canet-Saint-Nazaire nature reserve 2 km inland, flamingos and migratory birds. Canet town centre and market 1.5 km from the port.
