Approach and anchoring
Access from the Rhône navigable channel, between the locks of Gervans upstream and Bourg-lès-Valence downstream. There is about 3 metres alongside the pontoon, but the water shoals just downstream to the south, so approach from upstream, and a rock lies roughly 30 to 40 metres SSW of the pontoon in 3.5 to 4 metres. Maximum draught 2.5 m. Prudence for the current and the wash of commercial barges.
Practical
A solid pontoon of the type found at the locks, with room for about two 10 metre boats and no services on it. A campsite lies close by. Shops, bakery and supermarket in Saint-Vallier town centre about 10 minutes on foot.
