Outer harbour anchorage of Gustavia, 0.4 NM west of the quays, the main anchorage for boats visiting Saint-Barthélemy.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Call the harbour office on VHF 12 before entering. Sand bottom, sheltered from north round to south-east, open to the south and west. With the prevailing east-north-east wind blowing across the harbour, lay out plenty of scope. Expect a crowded anchorage and roll from swell and traffic.
Practical
Anchoring fees are paid at the harbour office, which also handles entry formalities. Most buoys in the harbour are private. Dinghy to the town quays for shops, restaurants and the port's water and fuel.
