Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south, keeping clear of the rocks fringing the shore. The bottom is largely posidonia over rock, holding is unreliable, and there is room for only about three boats on the rare clear sand, so check the anchor is set. A couple of diving buoys lie nearby and are sometimes free outside diving hours. Open to SW through S winds; useable only in settled weather or with a N to E breeze.

Practical

No facilities ashore. La Madrague de Giens harbour lies 0.8 NM NE and Port du Niel 1.4 NM E if shelter or services are needed.

Ashore

Several sea caves open off the cove and can be explored by snorkel or tender in clear, fish-rich water; one narrows to a fault that leads to a large chamber, so carry a torch. Sentier du littoral runs along the Giens peninsula and passes above the cove, linking La Madrague to La Tour Fondue. Salt pans of Les Pesquiers are reachable by the coastal path on the peninsula's east side.
