Small sand cove on the south coast of Corsica, in the gulf of Valinco, south-west of Propriano.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, keeping clear of the rocky points either side of the cove. Anchor on the turquoise sand patch in 3 to 6 metres, as the rest is rocky and shoals lie throughout the cove. In light winds it breaks a NW swell well. Shelter from N, NE and NW quadrants only. Exposed to the libeccio from the SW, which blows hard into the gulf of Valinco and makes the cove untenable.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no services. Nearest harbour is Porto Pollo 5.9 NM east with water, fuel and provisioning. Port Tino Rossi in Ajaccio lies 11.1 NM north for full marina services.
Ashore
Land on the rocks at the head of the cove to walk up to the Capu di Muru lighthouse on the nearby headland. The cove is wild, with no facilities of any kind and few other boats.
