Approach and anchoring

Approach from the Baie de Saint-Brieuc on a heading of 270. The outer harbour dries, leading to a lock gate into the wet basin. The gate opens from HW minus 2 hours to HW plus 1 hour on tides over coefficient 40; on the smallest neaps the tide does not rise enough to open it and the port can stay shut for a day or two, so check before arriving. Lateral buoys mark the channel. The visitor pontoon is to starboard just inside the gate, lying alongside. Exposed to easterly winds in the approach. VHF channel 9.

Practical

350 berths in the wet basin, visitor pontoon opposite the capitainerie. Water, electricity, WC and showers. No fuel berth, nearest station in the town. Bakery, butcher, fishmonger and supermarket within 200 m on the quai Jean Bart. A quayside market runs on Saturday morning and a larger street market on Thursday morning. A car can be hired at the Super U, about 15 minutes' walk up the hill by the church.

Ashore

GR 34 coastal path runs north to the Pointe de Pordic, 4 km, and south to Plage de la Banche. Musée des Traditions et Arts populaires on quai Surcouf tells the story of Binic Iceland cod fishing in the 19th century. Morgat-Bréhec sand beach 200 m from the marina.
