Approach and anchoring
Approach on rising tide to judge depth over the bank, which dries in places at low water of spring tides. Sand bottom, good holding. Shelter from NW through N to E; exposed to southerly winds funnelling through the gulf. Strong tidal streams either side of the bank. The anchorage can be disturbed by the wash of passenger ferries and by sailing school craft that pass close by.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no infrastructure. Port-Blanc on Île aux Moines lies 0.7 nm to the east, with pontoon, water and ferry link to Port-Blanc mainland. Port Lagaden is 1.4 nm south-west.
Ashore
From Port-Blanc, 6 km signed coastal footpath around Île aux Moines, with views on the narrows at Pointe du Trec'h. Bakery and small shops in the village near the ferry slip.
