Bay on the south coast of the eastern tip of Vieques, 9.7 NM east of Esperanza, inside the former US Navy bombing range.

Approach and anchoring
Sand and weed bottom. Sheltered from W through N to E, open to the south. The entrance runs between two coral reefs. Cruisers reported unexploded rockets on the seabed on the east side of the anchorage in 2015. A Coast Guard safety zone for ordnance clearance lies about 0.3 NM south, where anchoring needs the approval of the Captain of the Port San Juan.
Practical
Navily lists anchoring as permitted, but the shore is posted against trespass: much of the eastern Vieques National Wildlife Refuge is still closed because of unexploded ordnance, and closed areas may not be visited by land or sea.
History
The US Navy used eastern Vieques for naval gunfire and air-to-ground training from the 1940s until 1 May 2003. Parts of the island were added to the Superfund National Priorities List in 2005.
