Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south by the buoyed Odet channel past the Pointe de Combrit lighthouse. Sand holding. Protection from N, NE and E winds. Exposed to SW and S swell coming up the estuary. Watch the ebb stream which runs strongly out of the Odet. Keep clear of the swimming area in summer.

Practical

Free public toilets and showers stand on the beach; no other facilities at the anchorage. Sainte-Marine marina sits 0.8 NM NW with water, electricity and visitor pontoons, and Bénodet 0.9 NM NW on the east bank for all services.

Ashore

Plage du Trez stretches along the cove, and the dinghy can be beached or landed at two slipways, one on the west bank just before the ferry, the other by the Sainte-Marine harbour office. Sentier des douaniers runs north to the Odet mouth and south to the Pointe de Combrit lighthouse within 2 km. Shops and restaurants in Bénodet, 15 minutes on foot or by the passenger ferry across the Odet, with a Monday market.
