Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north between Île Verte and the mainland. Sand bottom with good holding. The cove shelters from W, SW, S, SE and E but stays open to the north, so residual swell works into the entrance and can make it roll even in a fair wind; avoid it in N or NW wind or swell. Moorings are white buoys with red heads: those nearest the harbour entrance lie in the deepest water, around 2.7 m at low water on a coefficient of 50, while those closer to the beach are shallower and mostly dry. Anchoring at the head of the cove to take the ground is not really tolerated in season. VHF 9.

Practical

Around 10 moorings, plus a few deep-water buoys added for deep-draught yachts. Water available ashore. The harbourmaster's office at the end of the quay keeps weekday reception, and the staff shuttle crews to the sanitary block, which is opened on request. The small harbour of Port du Diben lies 0.1 NM to the NW for shelter if the wind shifts. Roscoff-Bloscon marina is 5.7 NM to the W.

Ashore

Coastal path GR 34 passes above the cove, with sections toward Primel-Trégastel headland. The village of Plougasnou is about 2 km inland with bakery, grocery and cafés.
