Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach the baie de Morlaix from the north between Île de Batz and the Plateau des Duons. Strong tidal streams. Refer to SHOM 7095 for the numerous rocks and drying heads. Holding on sand is good, one crew lay overnight in about 14 metres at high water on 50 metres of chain and found roughly 4 metres at low water. Watch for fishing floats in the area. Keep a clear VHF watch.
Practical
Forain anchorage on sand. Exposed to winds from the NW and W. Port Diben lies 2.2 NM to the NE, Roscoff-Bloscon marina 4.4 NM to the NW for berths, fuel and all services.
Ashore
Coastal path GR 34 runs along the shore of the bay. Tidal harbour of Térénez and oyster beds of the Penzé estuary within walking distance of nearby coves.
