Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north of the Pertuis d'Antioche with Fort Boyard to the east. Anchoring is free but not within the yellow-buoy area, a private concession with cables on the bottom; anchor outside it, close in over sand where holding is good, as the deeper 10 metre-plus zone is muddy and can slip. There is plenty of water, about 12 metres at high water and 7 at low. Protection from W, NW and SW, exposed to E and SE. Strong N-S tidal streams run across the pertuis, fiercest at big coefficients.
Practical
The mooring buoys are run by a private concession at around 10 euros; call Jocelyn on +33 7 49 25 77 47 for a buoy suited to the boat's draught, and check it is well weighted, as one was found dragging. No services at anchor. Boyardville harbour 0.6 NM to SW for water, fuel and provisions. Chenal de la Perrotine lock entry 1.1 NM to SW opens around HW +/- 2h.
Ashore
Boyardville village 0.6 NM with boulangerie, épicerie and cafés by the quay. Forêt domaniale des Saumonards sand track starts behind the beach and runs 4 km north to Plage des Saumonards and views of Fort Boyard.
