Guide
Approach and anchoring
Easy approach from the west by day or night. Sheltered from N round through E to S, but northerly swell can make the bay rolly. Gusts drop off the high ground, and boats anchored close under the cliff take the worst of them. VHF 72 according to Navily.
Practical
32 paying buoys in 2025, 4 of them kept for professionals, at about 20 to 25 euros a night depending on length, for stays of up to a month. Anchor only inside the zone marked out by the commune. Water, shore power and fuel at the town quay. Dive clubs in the village refill tanks. Busiest from January to the end of March.
Ashore
The Jardin botanique de Deshaies covers 7 ha on the former estate of the comedian Coluche and opened in 2001. The village church of Saints Pierre et Paul was consecrated in 1733.
History
Deshaies was established as a community by a governor's decree in 1732. On 5 September 1803 French and British ships fought a naval action in the bay.
