Approach and anchoring

Enter from the south-east. The anchorage lies 1.8 nautical miles south-west of Morgat. Anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres at low water, keeping 150 to 200 m off the beach where rocks lie inshore. Exposure is to winds from the south through east. Swell builds rapidly with any south-east fetch across the Baie de Douarnenez.

Practical

Forain anchorage with no services. Nearest harbour is Morgat, 1.8 NM north-east, with fuel, water, chandler and showers. Camaret-sur-Mer Bassin du Nautique lies 5.6 NM north-west on the far side of the peninsula.

Ashore

Caves and small coves nearby can be explored by dinghy or kayak, best at low water, though landing on the neighbouring Île Vierge beach is now prohibited. Coastal path GR 34 crosses the headland to Cap de la Chèvre, southern tip of the Presqu'île de Crozon, 3 km south on foot. Village of Morgat with shops and restaurants reachable by dinghy.
