Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south-east, clear of the cliffs of Cap de la Chèvre to the west. Sand holding. Protection from N, NW, W and SW winds which are blocked by the peninsula, though a westerly swell wraps into the cove and can leave it rolly even close under the cliff. Open to E and SE swell. Watch for a few poorly marked mooring blocks on the bottom. No lit marks, so approach by day. Strong tidal streams run offshore in the Iroise, slacker inshore.

Practical

No facilities. It serves as an overnight staging anchorage while waiting for slack water to run the Raz de Sein to the south. Nearest harbour is Morgat 3.3 NM NE with water, diesel and visitor berths, then Camaret-sur-Mer Bassin du Nautique 6.4 NM N via the Toulinguet passage.

Ashore

The GR 34 coastal path runs along the cliffs above the anchorage and reaches the tip of Cap de la Chèvre in 4 km. Sea caves in the cliffs can be explored by tender. Beach walking on the sand of the cove, inside the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique.
