Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the W on a bearing clear of the outlying rocks. The anchorage is protected from SE through SW, the islet cutting the swell, but open to N and W winds. Look for a clear sand patch between the weed and rock, ideally in 5 to 8 metres, and check the set, as the sand is hard and the anchor can drag. An abandoned ground chain lies off the small village, and unofficial mooring buoys and discarded netting are about, any of which can foul an anchor or propeller, so do not arrive after dark.
Practical
No shore facilities. Port Charles Ornano in Ajaccio lies 5.4 NM to the SE and is the nearest all-weather refuge if the wind turns onshore.
Ashore
The Sentier des Crêtes coastal path runs along the ridge above the cove and links to the Capo di Feno area further north. Capo di Feno beach, popular with Ajaccio surfers when a W swell runs, lies about 2 km overland.
