Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the open sea between Cap Canaille and Cap Morgiou. Sheltered from west and north-west winds, exposed to easterlies. Sand, rock and posidonia on the seabed, so drop only on clear sand, found about 300 metres off the shore in around 8 metres, to spare the protected seagrass. It can roll at night once the wind drops, and the high cliffs delay sunrise by about an hour and a half, which matters for warmth and solar charging between seasons.

Practical

Open anchorage with no services. The port of Cassis 0.8 NM to the north-west and Port-Miou 1.3 NM to the west offer berths, water and provisions. National park rules on anchoring depth and zones apply.
