Approach and anchoring

Reached from the ICW at Wrightsville Beach, with anchoring room near the causeway bridge. The channel carries strong tidal current, so set the anchor well and allow swinging room. The spot looks more sheltered on the chart than it is, with a steady breeze across the open water.

Practical

Sand and mud bottom, holding reported as good. Fresh water available ashore. Seapath Yacht Club lies 1.3 miles to the north and Wrightsville Beach Marina 1.5 miles to the north. A public dock at the Banks Channel causeway bridge takes a few boats.

Ashore

Wrightsville Beach fronts the Atlantic a short walk from the channel, with shops and restaurants along the town streets.
