Approach and anchoring

From Lake Ontario, enter the Oak Orchard River at Point Breeze and follow the channel south for about one mile. The river runs between high tree-covered banks with calm water, sheltered from the prevailing westerlies that funnel down the lake. Address 1180 Point Breeze Road, Kent.

Practical

Deep-water berths, heated bathhouse with showers, party deck, lounge, limited mechanical service and a boat hoist. Full charter fishing base for salmon and trout. Provisions and fuel at Oak Orchard Harbor one mile downstream.

Ashore

Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum at Point Breeze, 1.5 km down the river. Lakeside Beach State Park 5 km west along the lake for sandy beach and 269 campsites. The Oak Orchard Trail runs along the river for walking and cycling.

Story

Point Breeze was named Ultimate Fishing Town by the World Fishing Network in 2013. The DEC stocks the Oak Orchard with 155,000 chinook salmon, 26,000 coho and 21,000 rainbow trout each year.
