Approach and anchoring
West Harbor is the best protected of the island's harbours. Anchoring is limited to the extreme southern end for boats drawing less than three feet, and is prohibited in Inner West Harbor and Silver Eel Pond. The bottom is sand and mud. The harbour is open to the south-west.
