Approach and anchoring
Accessed by the canalised Deûle from Lille to the south or from the Lys confluence to the north. Maximum draught 0.5 m. Lock gauges and low bridges set the air draught limits for the Nord-Pas-de-Calais network. No tidal constraints.
Practical
Pontoons for river cruisers and small motor boats. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Town centre at 300 m with bakeries, grocery and restaurants.
Ashore
Claeyssens distillery in Wambrechies has produced genever since 1817 and runs guided tours at 500 m from the port. Musée de la Poupée et du Jouet Ancien, doll and antique toy museum, in the town centre. Towpath for walking and cycling along the Deûle, connecting to the Lille city centre 5 km south.
