Approach and anchoring

Reached from the Rigolets channel, the natural pass between Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne. The marina sits near Fort Pike on Chef Menteur Highway. Strong tidal flow runs through the pass on the ebb and flood, so time the entrance with the slack.

Practical

Roughly 32 berths on pontoons, with a hoist, fresh water and shore power. Bait and ice shop on site. Fenced dry storage yard with no launch fee.

Story

The owner points out a channel marker that once stood on dry land within his family plot, a measure of how far coastal erosion has cut back the shore here.
