Guide

Approach and anchoring

Sand bottom, sheltered from north-west through north-east. The site sits within easy reach of the bay entrance and the open Gulf, so it stays exposed from the south.

Practical

No facilities on site. Tierra Verde Marina Resort lies 4.5 miles north and The Tierra Verde Marina 4.7 miles north for fuel, berths and provisioning.

Ashore

Fort De Soto Park spreads across five islands at the mouth of Tampa Bay, with Gulf beaches, fishing piers and a coastal fort dating from the Spanish-American War. Shell Key and Egmont Key are within a short run.
