Small private marina on the upper Weymouth Fore River at Weymouth, Massachusetts, well above the open harbour.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached by following the buoyed Weymouth Fore River channel up past Quincy Point. The landing sits well upriver near Weymouth Landing, where the channel narrows and marinas line both banks. Tidal river, so check depth against low water before going far upstream.
Practical
Around eight berths plus a long dock taking roughly eight more boats. Demand is high and the waiting list runs to several years, so transient space is rare. Provisions are available ashore at Weymouth Landing.
History
The house at the landing was built in the late 1600s by Captain Thomas White. Dr Cotton Tufts, uncle of Abigail Adams, later bought it for his son. Tufts delivered John Quincy Adams and helped found the Massachusetts Medical Society.
