Approach and anchoring
Reached from Boston Harbour up the Weymouth Back River into Hewitts Cove. The marina monitors VHF 9.
Practical
500 berths on gated concrete pontoons and 100 moorings with a launch service. Fuel berth with petrol and diesel, a pump-out, a 40-ton travel lift, heads, showers and laundry. Transient and guest dockage takes vessels of almost any size. Short-term dockage at the western end by the travel lift bay.
Ashore
The marina sits within Hingham Shipyard Village, with restaurants, shops, a grocery store and a cinema steps away. A waterfront boardwalk of about 2 miles runs along the cove with views over Boston Harbour.
History
The site was a World War II naval shipyard. Between 1942 and 1945 it built and launched 227 warships, including 100 destroyer escorts and 127 landing ship tanks.
