Approach and anchoring

A sand spit enclosing a salt lagoon reaches out from the shore. Sand bottom. There are eleven mooring buoys, eight on the north side of the spit and three on the south, with room to anchor for around 8 boats on either side. The choice of side depends on the expected wind, with shelter running NW through W to S and E to SE.

Practical

Buoy moorage is charged year round from 1300 to 0800, payable on shore or by phone on 833 927 1222. Spencer's Landing Marina lies 1.4 nm to the NW and Islands Marine Center 2.8 nm to the SW for fuel and repairs.

Ashore

Spencer Spit State Park covers 138 acres with beach access along the spit and around the salt lagoon. The mooring buoys sit on the Cascadia Marine Trail used by kayakers.
