South Shore Marina
- Type
- Harbour
Private dockominium marina of 92 berths on the south side of the Indian River Inlet, in the Long Neck area west of Delaware Seashore State Park.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Atlantic through the Indian River Inlet, where tidal currents run hard, or from the bay side. The marina entrance was relocated to the west jetty after an 800,000 dollar project, and the new approach holds about 14 feet of water, replacing a channel that previously shoaled and grounded boats.
Practical
92 berths from 25 to 60 feet, mostly on floating pontoons. Fuel berth with petrol and diesel, boat services, bathhouse, laundry, picnic area and a ship's store. Berths are individually owned and some are let to visitors during the season.
Ashore
The marina sits within a private residential community at the western edge of Delaware Seashore State Park, with the park's ocean beaches a short distance away on the barrier strip.
