Approach and anchoring
Open Lake Michigan approach with no tidal range to plan for. South Shore Yacht Club lies 5.8 miles north along the shore, a useful fallback in a hard onshore blow.
Practical
Around 92 slips on a 14-acre site, with shore power and water at each berth. Fuel dock, fish-cleaning station and 24-hour heads and showers. Clubhouse with a bar and an outdoor pavilion. The club runs a youth sailing programme and a sport-fishing group.
