Approach and anchoring
Reached from Lake Michigan through the gap in the north breakwater, used by small craft and fishing boats. The club leases berths within McKinley Marina, adjacent to the dredged north anchorage basin. Larger vessels use the main dredged channel between the breakwaters.
Practical
Member and guest dockage along a single fixed pier of 64 berths. Guest berths by registration. Fuel and pump-out at the McKinley Marina fuel berth nearby. Clubhouse with dining, heated pool and a lakeside bar.
History
Founded in 1871, the oldest yacht club on Lake Michigan. The 1896 clubhouse burned in 1943; the current building dates from 1967.
