Guide

Approach and anchoring

Reached from Rockaway Inlet through the Sheepshead Bay channel, kept to about 8 feet at low water. The bay is sheltered from open Atlantic swell but shoals towards its western end. Berths lie alongside the club's docks on the south shore.

Practical

Private members' club with berths, a clubhouse, swimming pool, locker rooms, bar and a dining room available for hire. Provisions, fuel and subway access are close by on Emmons Avenue.

History

Established on Ocean Avenue in 1908, the club later moved into a house once owned by the Rheingold brewing family. It is the longest-running of the south Brooklyn boat clubs still operating.
