Small HOA-run marina inside the canal network of the Sandy Point spit, on the north shore of Lummi Bay in Whatcom County, Washington.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south through Hale Passage, then round the Sandy Point Arm into the entrance channel on the north side of the spit. Shallow approaches: stay in the marked channel. The Lummi Reservation surrounds the area to the south.
Practical
Around 70 berths run by the Sandy Point Improvement Company for residents and overnight visitors. Boat ramp, fuel berth, heads and a picnic area on site. The canals zigzag through the spit so many homes have private moorage at the door.
Ashore
Sandy Point and Neptune Beach run along the seaward side of the spit. Community pool, tennis courts and a clubhouse on the development. Birch Bay State Park 15 km north by road, Bellingham 30 km east.
