Approach and anchoring

Access from the lake only. Lake Vouglans is a reservoir fed by the Ain, 35 km long, held back by the Vouglans dam built in 1968. Water level varies seasonally with EDF releases.

Practical

Fuel station on site. Port de la Mercantine 3.5 nm to the S, Port de la Saisse 3.7 nm to the N. The village of Onoz sits above the lake on the plateau.

Ashore

Belvédère du Regardoir viewpoint over the lake 3 km from the port. Sentier des Gorges de l'Ain long-distance path skirts the western shore. Swimming beach of Bellecin on the opposite bank.
