Approach and anchoring
Rock and sand bottom, holding patchy. Open to the eastern sector from SE through E, protection from W and SW only. Tidal range up to 6 m at springs, the cove dries partly at low water. Raz de Barfleur 2 nm to the east runs up to 5 knots at springs, time the arrival on slack water.
Practical
Water point on the slip. No other services. Barfleur 1.5 nm to the SE for shops, fuel and a drying harbour with pontoons. Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue 6.3 nm to the south for a lock-gated marina with full services.
Ashore
Coastal path GR 223 passes along the shore. Pointe de Barfleur lighthouse at Gatteville, second tallest in France at 71 m, reached in 2 km by the coastal footpath.
