Approach and anchoring
Port on the left bank between écluse de L'Isle-Adam upstream and écluse de Parmain downstream. Maximum draught 2 m. VHF 9. Signal the capitainerie before entering. Commercial barge traffic is steady, cross the river only with clear sight upstream and downstream.
Practical
One hundred and forty berths with water and electricity on the pontoons. Sanitary block with showers. Town centre at 400 m with all shops, market on Friday and Sunday morning. SNCF station on the Paris Nord line.
Ashore
Plage fluviale de L'Isle-Adam, opened in 1910 and the largest river beach in France, 300 m from the port. Forêt domaniale de L'Isle-Adam, 1 560 ha of oak and hornbeam, trailheads at the edge of town. Auvers-sur-Oise at 3.5 NM south-west by boat, where Van Gogh painted 70 canvases in the last 70 days of his life in 1890.
History
The town takes its name from Adam de Villiers, lord of the manor in the 11th century. The Prince de Conti held court here in the 18th century and commissioned the Pavillon chinois de Cassan, a lakeside folly built around 1775, still visible on the grounds of the former château park.
