Approach and anchoring

Reached by canal from the Moselle via Saarbrücken or from the Canal de la Marne au Rhin at Gondrexange. Small craft up to the standard Freycinet gauge. Several écluses to the north and south, operated by VNF.

Practical

Short pontoon with water and limited shore power. Free or low cost overnight mooring managed by the commune. Village shops including baker and small grocery within 500 m.

Ashore

Château de Bonne-Fontaine and its halte 2.3 NM to the southwest along the canal. Ligne Maginot aqueduct at Harskirchen is visible from the towpath. Cycle path EuroVelo 5 and the Véloroute du canal des Houillères run alongside the canal for day rides.
