Guide
Approach and anchoring
Freshwater lake accessed from the village of Maubuisson or Lacanau. No tidal constraint. Keep clear of the swimming zone marked by yellow buoys in summer. Shallow approach over sand, sound the depth under the keel.
Practical
Sand bottom with good holding. Shelter from NW, N, W and SW winds behind the pine-covered point. Exposed to easterly breezes that funnel across the lake in the afternoon.
Ashore
Plage du Tedey with lifeguards in July and August. Véloroute du Médoc cycle path 300 m inland links Lacanau-Océan on the Atlantic coast to Bordeaux. Small supermarket and bakery in Maubuisson 2 km north.
