Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north-west into the Gulf of Saint-Florent. The point is marked by the ruins of the Fornali tower, used as a landmark. Anchor on sand patches clear of the posidonia. Exposed to easterly winds and the Libeccio swell wrapping round the cape. Saint-Florent harbour lies 0.8 nm east.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Fuel, water, electricity and provisioning at Saint-Florent marina 0.8 nm east. Private harbour Mare E Stagnu 1.1 nm south-east for alternative shelter.
Ashore
Genoese tower of Fornali ashore, built 1562, ruined but signposted from the coast path. Saint-Florent old town 1.5 km east by sea or along the shore, with 15th century citadel and cathedral Santa Maria Assunta of Nebbio from the 12th century. Plage de la Roya 2 km east, the town beach.
