City-owned marina on Point Cadet at the eastern end of Biloxi, Mississippi, on the Biloxi Bay channel just inside the Mississippi Sound.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway through the Biloxi Bay channel. The tidal range averages about 0.75 ft, so depths are stable, but currents run through the channel. The marina sits directly behind the Golden Nugget casino. VHF working channel for the harbourmaster.
Practical
The largest marina in Biloxi, with 246 berths from 25 to 100 ft and transient space for vessels up to 135 ft. There are 29 floating docks with full-length finger pontoons and in-slip pump-out. Fuel berth open 0600 to 2200, with showers, heads, laundry, a bait shop and 24-hour security. Transient rate about 2.50 USD per foot.
Ashore
The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum stands on Point Cadet, with exhibits on Biloxi shrimping and oystering. Casinos, restaurants and the Biloxi beachfront are within walking distance of the marina.
History
Point Cadet was the heart of Biloxi's seafood industry, home to shrimping and oyster fleets and canneries that drew immigrant labour from the late 19th century onward.
