Approach and anchoring
Accessed from the Rhine via the écluse Nord of the Port Autonome de Strasbourg or from the canal de la Marne au Rhin. Inland waterway, no tides. Air draught limited by the canal bridges at 3.5 m. Max draught 3 m.
Practical
Club moorings for members and a few visitor berths on pontoon. Water and electricity on the pontoons. No fuel berth on site. Bakery, supermarket and trams of the CTS network within 600 m in the Neudorf district.
Ashore
Petite France quarter of the old town at 1.8 km, UNESCO-listed since 1988 with its 16th and 17th century half-timbered houses. Cathédrale Notre-Dame at 2 km. Parc de l'Orangerie at 3 km, designed by Le Nôtre in 1692.
History
Strasbourg became France's second inland port after Paris with the opening of the Rhine basins in the early 20th century. The Plaisance Club was founded by local boaters to offer a yachting base on what is otherwise a commercial waterway.
