Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Intracoastal Waterway, leaving the JFK Causeway to the south. Dockside depth around 1.8 metres. Ocean access is via Haulover Inlet 4 NM to the north or Government Cut 5 NM south. Ramps open 24 hours, office hours 0800 to 1700.
Practical
112 wet slips, fixed timber docks, a small number of transient berths. Water and shore power on the docks, sailing club, picnic shelters and a sand volleyball court ashore. No fuel berth on site. Provisioning a short drive on the 79th Street Causeway.
Ashore
Pelican Island, a small bird sanctuary, sits 400 yards offshore. North Beach and the Atlantic shore are 3 km east across the causeway. South Beach and the Art Deco district lie 7 km south by road.
