Approach and anchoring
Approach with care: the currents of Bellingham Channel run hard past the eastern shore and set up eddies near the headlands. Holding is on rock, so check the anchor is well set. The anchorage is sheltered from north through west, but exposed to the east.
Practical
No facilities on this part of the island. Blakely Island Marina lies 4.6 nm to the west with fuel and a store; Anchor Cove Marina is 5.9 nm to the south-east.
Ashore
Cypress Island is a Natural Resources Conservation Area with no road access and trails climbing to Eagle Cliff and Reed Lake. The shoreline is part of an aquatic reserve, with rockfish and lingcod on the reefs.
