Guide
Approach and anchoring
The cove lies south of the Richmond-San Rafael bridge, in Marin County. The water is shallow over much of the bay here, so sound your way in. The bottom is sand and mud with some grass, giving fair holding. Sheltered from west through south-west to south.
Ashore
Paradise Beach County Park sits on the shore, with a fishing pier and picnic ground. Paradise Cay Yacht Harbor is 1.3 nm to the north-west; Richardson Bay Marina is 2.5 nm south-west, towards Sausalito.
History
San Franciscans crossed the bay to picnic at Paradise Cove from the 1860s. In 1891 the San Francisco and North Pacific Railroad opened a picnic resort here called El Campo, later Paradise Park.
