Approach and anchoring

Reached from Barnegat Bay through the dredged lagoon channels off Ortley Beach. Bay water is shallow, with the Intracoastal Waterway carrying a target depth of about 6 feet at low water, so deep-draught yachts should plan their route.

Practical

The Lavallette base has over 300 berths. Service staff are certified to repair Yamaha, Mercury and MerCruiser engines, and the company sells new and used boats, parts and runs boat rentals.

Ashore

The marina sits on the narrow barrier strip between the bay and the Atlantic, with Lavallette and Ortley Beach ocean beaches a short walk across the island.
