Approach and anchoring
A special anchorage adjoins the yacht club on the Yonkers shore, with a second special anchorage about half a mile to the north. The Hudson runs a strong tidal stream here, so allow plenty of scope and watch the swing. The anchorage is open to the north-east through south-east.
Practical
Anchor over mud. Alpine Marina, in the Palisades Interstate Park on the New Jersey shore, lies around 2.6 miles to the south-west with berths, fuel, water and shore power.
Ashore
The Palisades rise on the New Jersey shore opposite, with cliffs reaching about 540 feet. The Palisades Interstate Park carries over 25 miles of marked trails along the clifftops and the riverside, including the Long Path.
