Small marina at the west end of Dyckman Street, on the Hudson River in the Inwood neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York, opposite the New Jersey Palisades.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
The marina sits on the east bank of the Hudson within Fort Washington Park, between Englewood Cliffs marinas on the New Jersey shore. Sand bottom. The river is tidal here, with shelter from north-west and north-east but exposure to the west and east.
Practical
NYC Parks has closed the marina for a reconstruction of the docks, fishing pier and adjacent shoreline. Englewood Cliffs Marina lies 0.5 miles to the north on the New Jersey side.
History
From 1915 to 1942 the Englewood-Dyckman company ran a car and passenger ferry from this dock to the Palisades beaches. Service declined after the George Washington Bridge opened and the landing fell into disrepair before its later use as a marina.
