Approach and anchoring
Open lake approach from the south end of Lake Michigan, on the northern stretch of the city shoreline. The harbour sits behind a breakwater off Montrose Point. Transient docking is handled by the Chicago Harbors office.
Practical
Floating docks, star docks and mooring cans. Fuel, fresh water, showers, WiFi and complimentary pump-out. Parking by the docks for loading. Dinghy fleet based here.
Ashore
Montrose Beach lies a short walk from the harbour, alongside the Montrose Point bird sanctuary, a noted stopover for migrating birds on the Lake Michigan flyway. Lincoln Park paths run south along the shore.
